When Dick’s Sporting Goods launched Public Lands to compete with established retailers in the outdoor space, they needed a library of outdoor content, how-to’s, and guides to create legitimacy and expertise in the space. They hired Outside Inc. to help with this production.

As a regular contributor to Outside Inc.’s editorial publications, I was an early addition to the team. I created how-to’s for outdoor skills including hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and navigating with expert gear recommendations. When Public Lands needed more regional content, I pitched and created adventure guides for specific areas to encourage people to get outside and explore.

Regional Adventure Guides

I created regional adventure guides with suggestions for all types of activities for all types of skill levels in both urban and remote areas.

These stories helped readers stay safe, explore new areas, and have the confidence to get outside.

Expert Gear Guides

I created gear guides to help readers find the appropriate equipment for their needs. I paid particular attention to create guides that gave reasonable and affordable solutions for a variety of concerns. The outdoors is for everyone.
